ABOUT
Craftmanship
I discovered my passion for wood at age of six when I put together my first cabinet by using old wood boards, some nails, and a hammer that I found in my grandfather’s workshop. Since then, it was clear to me what I wanted in life. My story of handcraft starts as young cabinet maker apprentice in the Swiss-Italian Alpine region, where wood and joinery-works are an ingrained tradition. Bespoke and handmade interior works were commissioned by the client to the artisan and crafted according to the local tradition and techniques. This way of work was passed on to young trainees, who, in turn, learned working and transforming wood with accuracy and “savoir-faire”. We learned the meaning of having a discerning eye for details and quality, always striving to deliver a “state-of-art” masterpiece.
Over time, I realized how hand-made and custom-made objects last in time, revealing its own story. These objects, in a certain sense, have a narrative side that tells you about the maker, the material and the place where they are related to.
If you live and grow up between mountains it is quite normal that as young boy you wonder what is on the other side of the horizon, beyond the mountain ridges. So, one day, I decided to leave my roots for new paths in life and in 2008 I moved to Sweden.
New opportunities showed up and gave me the chance to work in small companies doing business internationally. I could travel and meet even more people of different countries and cultures. These circumstances of being, working and interacting in a multicultural environment and across borders definitively changed my perspectives.
Consultancy
Looking back now to my decennial work experience in the international market, I am convinced that the central point of every business circumstance I have been in, is how you "get along with people".
By my own, I discovered that the outcome of a business situation is closely related to how well you succeed in the interaction with others. I have also experienced, how rapidly you can get close to a customer, when you talk his language, breaking down otherwise hard-removable barriers...
Keeping in mind this, I work today as a freelance, offering my services primarily to small businesses that are expanding internationally or already have an export organization.
